This is not incremental progress. This is a generational shift in how young top talent develops. Sivanandan earned her first WGM norm at 10, making her the youngest player ever to hit that milestone. She won the British Women's Championship at the same age, claiming the title ahead of players twice her age. Now she has closed out the full WGM qualification in under 12 months.

The path to Woman Grandmaster requires three norms. Norms are earned by scoring above 50 percent against opponents rated 2200 or higher at tournaments with a minimum number of rounds and players. The rating threshold and consistency demand mean you cannot stumble through to the title. You must perform at an elite level repeatedly.
